I was born in 1992 and grew up in Ukraine, brought up by single mother. When I was 6 years old, my mother brought me to the circus show. Since then, it was an inseparable part of my life for the next 16 years. Circus taught me to be tough in my decisions and follow all my goals down-the-line.
When I was nine, I knew which university I want to graduate from and where I want to live after 25. When it came up to go to university, I had to pay for it. I also wanted to help out my mother financially, so I decided to get a job. Four years in a row, I have been working full time at night and getting my education at day time. It was hard, but I am very grateful because I’ve learned how to appreciate simple things in life, such as food, clothing, and paid education. Finally, in 2014, I got Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing with honour in Ukraine. The same year, I enrolled into university in Poland to pursue Master’s Degree. It was my first experience of immigration to another country. Couple of months later, I realized how wonderful is to be in a variety of people from all over the world. It is an opportunity to know about other people’s lives and their traditions. I wanted to learn more and more, meet new people and talk to them!
After graduation, I went to Canada to join my new husband. I came to Canada with a worried heart and a huge baggage of expectations. It was different from the first time. Up’s and down’s. I felt how I was losing my beliefs and confidence… After a while, I decided to get my life back on track. I joined different community groups, found a new hobby (beadings) and started to look at my life from another angle.
In February 2017, I was so fortunate to go to IWB Networking event. I met Svetlana and plenty of other people whose hearts were full of love, passion, and enthusiasm. It was the moment when my happy life in Canada started. I found myself, my voice, my new friends who I am on one channel with. Finally, I could see amazing opportunities in my life! I am very grateful for where I am and who I am now. Thank you, Canada, for your infinite possibilities and all your gifts in my life!
