However, Kate”s contributions extend far beyond her legal career. In response to the full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine, she took immediate action by organizing a volunteer movement. This movement was dedicated to providing food supplies, preparing meals, and delivering sustenance to territorial defense soldiers, military units, and police units defending the city of Odessa against the Russian invasion. Her unwavering commitment to her country and community is exemplified in her tireless efforts to support those on the front lines.
Despite being a single mother, Kateryna’s determination led her to Canada, where, within just three weeks, she secured a position with a non-profit organization funded by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This organization specializes in assisting immigrants with all aspects of settling in Canada. She passionately dedicates her days to helping and supporting Ukrainian immigrants who are fleeing the war, providing them with guidance and care.
Her life credo, “receiving through giving,” reflects her philosophy of always lending a hand to those in need, a principle she carries with her throughout her journey.
